Majerhat-Esplanade Metro inspection

KOLKATA: Metro Railway general manager P Uday Kumar Reddy on Saturday inspected the upcoming Majerhat-Esplanade stretch of the Joka-Esplanade corridor (Purple line).
Reddy started the inspection from Majerhat station. He also checked the Majerhat-Mominpore viaduct section, the proposed locations of the underground Metro stations at Mominpur and Victoria Memorial.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) executive director Amit Roy and other senior officials of RVNL and Metro Railway accompanied Reddy to the proposed site, where BC Roy Market will be relocated for the proposed Esplanade station. A working permission from the defence ministry to shift the market is awaited, a Metro spokesperson said.
