"The proposed structure will be a two-storied building that will house at least 15 beds for children and their parents. The stay at the home will help the parents, who have financial problems," said bank official, Abhijit Chakraborty, who lost his only son Aarush after a 26-day battle at Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in April 2019.

"No parents can accept the loss of their child. I wanted to float a public charitable trust for helping the financially deprived paediatric cancer patients," he said during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the unit in Hathishala, New Town. Eight months after Aarush's death, the family had formed the Aarush Memorial Trust in December 2019.
