KOLKATA: With an eye on next year's panchayat elections, the

West Bengal

BJP today effected a major reshuffle in its organisational structure with Locket Chatterjee replacing Roopa Ganguly as president of the

party's women wing

.

Several young and new faces were brought in the

organisation

in various capacities from secretary to general secretary and some inactive leaders were relieved from their posts, party insiders said.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly has been the president of BJP's Mahila Morcha for the last few year. Today Locket Chatterjee replaced her.

"Roopa Ganguly will look after the party's organisational work. Locket Chatterjee will look after Mahila Morcha. All changes have been made keeping in mind the upcoming elections in the state and various other challenges that we will be facing in the days to come," BJP state president Dilip Ghosh told reporters.
