Kolkata: The present board of governors of

schools is likely to file a petition in the high court on Wednesday, praying for revocation of an earlier petition filed against it by four deposed governors of the school board. The latter is going to appeal on Thursday for an injunction on their removal.

If this petition of the present board is filed, it will be heard before the injunction petition. It was learnt that the former governors will also ask for quashing of all decisions taken by the present board on the plea that they have been “illegally” removed and hence the present board is not valid.

The four governors — Anil Mukherji, Gerry Arathoon, Suchitra Guha and Anjali Das — were removed on June 18 by two ex-officio members of the board, Bishop Paritosh Canning and Swarup Bar, on grounds that they had not been appointed following the right procedure. The previous day the four governors had protested against the removal of Shane Calvert from the position of the school’s secretary and former secretary Supriyo Dhar was brought back.
