KOLKATA: PWD minister Kshiti Goswami on Tuesday called for action against home Secretary Ardhendu Sen for his remark on Monday that the government had no information on Trinamool Congress' links with Maoists. Sen had clarified his statement later but his initial comment had already put the government in an uncomfortable position.
"If, for argument's sake, it was a slip of tongue, then it is a different issue.
But if he made the statement deliberately, the chief minister should take steps as he is the home minister," Goswami told reporters at the state secretariat.
On November 8, Bhattacharjee had accused Trinamool of being in league with Maoists. The next day, however, Sen brought embarrassment to the Left government by saying the state had no input of such links.
