Kolkata may get sporadic showers

KOLKATA: The city is likely to receive sporadic, localized

showers

over the weekend.

With no major system in sight, heavy showers have been ruled out by the Regional Meteorological Centre (

RMC

), Alipore. But the weather will remain just as stifling steamy, it said.

“Since there is no rain-triggering system in the region, Kolkata and its surroundings will remain dry, barring a few spells of light shower. The temperature will continue to hover around 34-35 degree-mark and humidity will remain around 70%. It will continue to be uncomfortable,“ said

, director, RMC. While the maximum temperature in Kolkata had touched 36 degrees this week, real feel temperature had crossed 47 degrees.
