Kolkata: ICDMAI 2026 to bring academia and industry together at St. Xavier’s college
KOLKATA: The tenth edition of the International Conference on Data Management, Analytics and Innovation (ICDMAI 2026) will be held from January 9 to 11 at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, with the aim of strengthening engagement between academia and industry in the rapidly evolving field of data science and analytics.
Over the past decade, ICDMAI has emerged as a key platform for researchers, educators, industry professionals and institutional leaders working with data-driven systems across diverse domains. The 2026 edition is being chaired by Professor Kanadpriya Basu and Professor Saptarsi Goswami, who have been closely associated with the conference since its early years and have played a central role in shaping its academic and organisational direction.
The conference is being organised by St. Xavier’s College in collaboration with the Society 4 Data Science, Pune, as the organising partner. This year’s programme features a strong mix of international and Indian speakers, reflecting the conference’s emphasis on dialogue across institutional and professional boundaries.
Among the keynote speakers are Professor Rangina Hamidi from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University; Professor Kathryn Leonard from Occidental College, USA; and Professor G. Sarkis from Pomona College, USA. In addition, ICDMAI 2026 will include speakers and contributors from a wide range of global organisations, including Microsoft, Amazon, Marriott International, Walmart, DocuSign, Infosys, Kenvue and Springer Nature.
“The resulting mix is one where academic work, industry practice and institutional experience sit alongside one another without being forced into a single narrative,” said Professor Kanadpriya Basu, describing the conference’s approach to cross-sector engagement.
The three-day event will feature keynote addresses, invited talks, multi-track paper presentation sessions, specialised workshops and panel discussions. While workshops are designed to allow deeper engagement with specific tools, methods and practices, paper sessions will focus on detailed discussions around ongoing research. Panel discussions will bring together voices from different domains, enabling contrasting perspectives to be presented side by side.
Marking its tenth edition, ICDMAI 2026 represents an important milestone in the conference’s journey. “The conference reflects both continuity and growth, bringing together long-standing members of its community along with new participants,” said Professor Saptarsi Goswami. With its diverse formats and wide institutional participation, ICDMAI 2026 is expected to be a landmark edition that looks ahead while remaining rooted in sustained academic and professional exchange.
