Kolkata college student shot at in Jagaddal

KOLKATA: A second year student of

Maulana Azad College

, who was on his way home from a gymnasium, was shot at by two bike-borne miscreants at Jagaddal in North

24 Parganas

around 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Police, who suspect that the attack was the fallout of a dispute over an alleged affair, have detained a friend of the victim, Mahammad Sahajada

Ansari

. They are also looking for a first-year girl studying in a

Barrackpore

college.

Ansari, who was struck by the bullet on his back, was rushed to the Bhatpara State

General Hospital

and was later shifted to Kalyani JNM hospital after his condition deteriorated.
