KOLKATA: The West Bengal government has effected a reshuffle in the bureaucracy.

KOLKATA: The West Bengal government today effected a reshuffle in the bureaucracy appointing Home Secretary Amit Kiran Deb as the new Chief Secretary in place of Asok Gupta.
Prasad Roy, who is now the Power Secretary, will take over as Home Secretary in place of Deb.
Outgoing Chief Secretary Asok Gupta said Industrial Reconstruction Secretary Sunil Mitra would take over as Power Secretary in place of Roy, while Sunderbans Affairs Secretary Ardhendu Sen will replace Mitra as Industrial Reconstruction Secretary.

Fire Secretary Sathia Bhasin will replace Sen as Sunderbans Affairs Secretary, while Burdwan Divisional Commissioner Kathiresan will be the new Fire Secretary.
Jalpaiguri Divisional Commissioner Balbir Ram will replace Kathiresan as DC, Burdwan, while G Balachandran, now posted in Delhi, will be replace Ram as DC, Burdwan.
Urban Development Secretary Rajendra Kumar will be the Excise Secretary, while Nandita Das, now posted in Delhi will be the new Urban Development Secretary, the outgoing Chief Secretary said.
