Kolkata: The 10-minute meeting with chief minister
Mamata Banerjee on Friday instilled some hope in
Rimjhim Dasgupta
after her "disappointment" with the police's accident theory barely 12 hours earlier.
Rimjhim is happy that she got an assurance from the CM for a free and fair probe.

told TOI that since they had returned home in despair on Thursday night after being shown the
CCTV
clippings and told by reporters that the investigators have already had a press conference, prima facie declaring Aabesh's death an accident. They could not eat anything or even sleep for a minute, he said.
"My sister had become restless and we called up a number of acquaintances who could fix an appointment with the CM. Finally, around 5.30am, someone we know said that he would try to arrange for a meeting and asked us to reach her house at
Kalighat
early in the morning,"

They are grateful that
Mamata
gave them an appointment at such short notice.
"The CM personally assured me that the investigation is not complete and that the guilty will be punished. We are not seeking any
CBI or judicial probe immediately. We will wait for a few days to allow the police finish the investigation," said Rimjhim.
The family was outraged when the CCTV footage shown to them by police on Thursday evening came out in public on Friday. "We had sought the CCTV footage on Thusday but were denied. The officers said it was a vital piece of evidence which they are not supposed to give us. How did news channels get it?" asked Thakkar.
Reacting to the footage, mother Rimjhim said she is not sure if the person whom the police are claiming to be Aabesh in the footage is her son. "I could not identify my son in the footage. Children of this age look the same. Moreover, the footage is very unclear and has been taken from very far. I am not sure if it is my son who features in the footage," she said.
"Even if police say that it is my son, they don't have any evidence to prove he was injured accidentally. I stick to my stand. I feel my son was murdered," said Abesh's mother.
