Cars got stuck in snarl after cops cordoned off a section of the bridge
KOLKATA: KMDA on Saturday rushed its men to Tollygunge-Karunamoyee bridge after reports of subsidence in the expansion joints came in. The bridge features on the list prepared by the government for a health audit, which will be conducted by five-member advisory committee soon.
State urban development minister Firhad Hakim, who is also the KMDA chairman, said only a small dent on the surface have been noticed.

The portion has been barricaded for the repair work, slowing down vehicle movement on the busy stretch.
Police said that there was nothing to worry about. “No heavy vehicle would be allowed to ply on the bridge till the five-member advisory committee gives a go-ahead,” said a senior police officer.
