Kolkata cops bust call centre run by Jamtara gang, 4 held

KOLKATA: The cyber cell of Kolkata Police has busted a call centre, run by a Jamtara gang, at a rented flat in Baranagar on Tuesday.
Cops arrested four persons — Ravi Kumar Mondal (29), Abhishek Singh (20), Ranjit Sharma (26) and Chandan Singh (25) — in this connection and seized laptop, mobiles, ATM and SIM cards from them.
The accused duped people by sending fake CESC bills and demanding immediate payment.
The accused had shifted their base to Kolkata for “smooth operations.”
