Senior CID officers have reportedly asked inspector Ardhendu Sekhar Pahari to clarify how Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha leader Nicole Tamang fled from CID custody in August this year. Nicole, a GJM central committee member, is one of the prime accused in ABGL president Madan Tamang's murder. District police had nabbed Nicole from his native village but he escape from Pintail village, near Siliguri, while inthe custody of a CID team led by Pahari. A sub-inspector was suspended fornegligence of duty. After a departmental inquiry found Pahari responsible, PNirajnayan, IG CID (I), showcaused Pahari and initiated a departmental probeagainst him.1 booked for eve-teasing: A 30-year-old motor mechanicwas caught trying to take photographs of some women commuters on the Metro onSaturday afternoon. Mahato, who owned aneatery in front of the local sponge iron factory, had been branded a policeinformer by Maoists.
