Kolkata: The Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce (IACC) launched its office in Kolkata — its fourth in India — as part of its East India Chapter. IACC, established in 1989, is the bilateral business chamber that promotes trade and investment between India and Australia.
Around 10 Australian companies are operating in the eastern region. Some of the major names include MD Mineral Technologies, SMEC India, Tata Bluescope Steel, Orica and Worley India.
IACC CEO Petula Thomas said: “It will serve as the local guiding point for business growth and advocacy.”
The programme was also attended by Kolkata’s mayor and state urban development minister Firhad Hakim, industry secretary
Vandana Yadav and MSME secretary
Rajesh Pandey. tnn
