Wonder
Munna aka
Indrani Biswas
left her job at a Delhi production house to pursue
YouTube full-time. After learning about videos and its production during her Delhi days, she returned to her hometown and thought of starting something of her own. “I learnt a lot from
BB Ki Vines
and Superwoman but was too scared to start something of my own. So, I started off with
Facebook,” she says. After her FB videos gained popularity, many insisted Indrani to start a YouTube channel. “I began my channel on my friends’ suggestions. But soon after, I lost my dad and had to keep my plans on hold for some time. However, after things got settled, my channel got active last year.”
Indrani, whose take on the Sarahah trend went viral, says, “It was crazy. The video got 10K shares and I was so excited. It became even more popular after some famous Facebook pages shared the video.” Her YouTube career got a major boost after the videos she made on Durga Puja. She shares, “My first Puja video was purely experimental. I didn’t know it’d garner such huge hits. However, thanks to Bengalis’ special connection with Puja, all my videos became instant hits.”
Indrani thinks she’s not meant for regular jobs. “I’m freelancing and also working on my YouTube channel. A nine-to-five job is not my cup of tea.” Indrani, who conducts her own shoots and edits, says, “I use my mobile camera and software to make the videos. I want more youngsters to jump on the YouTube bandwagon.” So, what's next? “I’m not sure what the future here is! YouTube is evolving every day. But I want to keep doing more videos.”
