High-decibel Farhan Akhtar show brings curtains down on RG Kar fest
KOLKATA: The 28th edition of the four-day RG Kar Medical College annual fest - Lobelia 2018 - concluded on Tuesday with a fashion show and a Farhan Akhtar concert. The extravaganza, organised in association with The Times of India and co-sponsored by
The event kicked off with a singing contest titled Decibel, while the more popular band competition - Armageddon - was scheduled for the second day. Among 15 participating teams, Deathlore emerged as the winner. The third day saw a dance competition - Follow the Beat.

The highlight of the fest was undoubtedly the Farhan Akhtar show that had everyone jiving to the beat.
Lobelia had started in 1982 and discontinued after 2003. The annual fest was revived after nine years, in 2012. It is organised by the Lobelia carnival committee along with the college's students' union.
Organiser Ayan Dey said, "The four-day affair is like Durga Puja for us. Our decoration teams begin their work first. While seniors secure sponsorship, juniors take care of the decoration."
Amidst the euphoria, the students observed a minute of silence for their departed friend, Dr Gourab Basak.
