KOLKATA: Calcutta High Court on Friday directed the government, Subhas Datta, who had filed a PIL on Indian Botanic Garden (Shibpur) and the IBG garden authorities to file affidavits on the issue of the garden being under the direct control of Botanical Survey of India (BSI) and not under the purview of state laws. Datta had moved the PIL alleging mismanagement and poor maintenance of the garden.
A committee report later confirmed the allegation.
