KOLKATA: Calcutta High Court has directed the Burdwan police to submit progress report of murder cases of a CPM polling agent and another activist who was killed on April 21, on poll day at Burdwan’s Khondoghosh.
Families of the deceased leaders Sk Fazal Haque (55) and Dukhiram Dale(62) had moved to Calcutta High Court seeking a CBI probe. They alleged that they have no faith on the district police probe.
On April 21 night, Haque was killed after bombs were hurled in the Lodhna area of Khondoghosh.
Dale was killed in Metepata allegedly by Trinamool Congress supporters. The families alleged that the FIR that was lodged, had the names of the main accused, but no one has been arrested.
State secretary of Krisha Sabha and convenor of Burdwan district Left Front, Amal Haldar said that both of them have been killed in presence of the police. The killers have also threatened the family members to withdraw their names from the FIR.
Yesterday, the single bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta of the the Calcutta High Court has directed the state government to submit their report within next Monday. Haque was a
CPM polling agent of booth number 108 and Dale has been the father of the CPM polling agent, Bijoy Dale of booth number 107 of CPM candidate of the Khondoghosh assembly seat.
Incidentally, former MLA of CPM , Nabin Chandra Bag joined trinamul congress just before the polls and have won from the Khondoghosh assembly seat on TMC ticket.
