Haldia medical college to take in students
KOLKATA: Medical aspirants in Bengal will have a better chance to get admission to MBBS, as ICare Institute of Medical Sciences and Research of Haldia, which was earlier directed by the MCI not to admit students this academic year, has been given the green signal by Justice R M Lodha Committee.
The college has got 100 MBBS seats, said Lakshman Seth, who heads ICare, an NGO that runs the medical college. The admission will be through JEE and NEET, as per the guidelines of Bengal government.
Seth said 33 students will be admitted from JEE merit list, while 67 will be through NEET merit list. He is a former CPM MP and now expelled from the party.
