Most of the private schools either have finished or are about to finish their curriculum. South Point School, St Xavier’s Collegiate School and Shri Shikshayatan School have annual examinations starting from the end of February. St Xavier’s Collegiate School principal M Thamacin Arulappan said, “We have called students of classes X and XII to attend practical classes only. Students of classes VIII, IX and XI are continuing online classes because they are preparing for annual examinations.”

, principal Rodney Borneo said, “The attendance was 90% on the first day. It did drop on Friday due to rain, but students are excited to attend offline classes. Parents of kids in classes VI-VII are sending mails to ask if they can send children to school.”
“We have circulated consent forms to know how many parents are willing to send their children. After collecting the data, we will decide to call them for offline exams,” said Lakshmipat Singhania Academy director Meena Kak.

said, “The students of classes IX-XII are all enthusiastic about being back. Class VIII students are expected on campus from February 7.”

said, “We have divided classes according to the student strength.” Jodhpur Park Boys’ School principal Amit Sen Majumdar said, “We had almost full attendance in classes VIII and IX, but the Class X attendance was lower. We are hoping it will increase from Monday.”
Many district schools, especially in remote areas, had low attendance on the first day, and are waiting for next week to get a clear picture.”
