KOLKATA: The blood-smeared body of Manjor Ali owner of Barrackpore's ice factory where a person had died and around 100 fell ill following a gas leak was recovered from the railway tracks between Hridaypur and Madhyamgram stations on Wednesday night.
Police spotted the body of the 45-year-old around 11.15 p.m. Cops suspect that Ali could have jumped to his death in front of a moving train as he had been suffering from depression ever since the gas leak incident at his factory on December 31, 2010.
An FIR was lodged against Ali after ammonia had leaked from a tanker in his ice factory, choking Babar
Ali, 55, to death and making 100 others ill as the poisonous gas spread in the neighbourhood.
