MALDA: Two youths were nabbed from a hotel in Malda on Thursday with fake currency worth Rs 5.84 lakh.
Md Asif and Rafiqul Islam, who reportedly hail from Assam's Barpeta, were nabbed from their hideout in a hotel near the Malda railway station by English Bazaar police. They are being interrogated.
Additional police superintendent Kalyan Mukherjee said: "We are trying to bust the entire gang."
"This is for the first time that there is an Assam connection in a fake currency case," said Malda SP Satyajit Bandyopadhyay.

The two youths frequented Malda, which is a corridor for fake currency from Bangladesh to north India.
