Failed blackmailing bid behind Tollywood actor's murder

KOLKATA: Failed to blackmail, youths killed Tollywood actor and teacher. Probe revealed that the assailants were planning to blackmail aspiring actor Indrajit Chakraborty and were in a bid to make some video clippings. Chakraborty was found murdered at his Regent Colony apartment on June 3 in south Kolkata.His hands were tied behind; legs were bound and gagged with leucoplast. Twenty nine year old Indrajit used to stay at his Regent Colony flat alone. He worked in four Bengali movies and some television serials.He was also a science teacher in a high school.During probe, city police officers found that three of Indrajit's friends were in the house when he was murdered. But, they were in different room, and room was locked from outside. The statement of three friends revealed that Indrajit used to run a 'male to male' massage parlour in his house and several gays used to frequent in his house.On that night when three friends were in another room, two more youths came to meet Indrajit. One of them was Pavel Saha, a resident of Belghoria in northern fringes of the city and a known face in all city based massage centers.The arrest of Pavel revealed that around seven months back, Pavel met the victim in a gay party in central Kolkata and since then Pavel used to visit Indrajit at his Regent Colony apartment.
