Elite commandos rule the field in Run for Fun

National Security Guard (NSG) commandos from the Regional Hub, Kolkata, ruled the roost at the 8 km Run for Fun organised by the CRPF in several cities across the country including Kolkata. The NSG commandos bagged all top three honours in the over-35-year category.

KOLKATA: National Security Guard (NSG) commandos from the Regional Hub, Kolkata, ruled the roost at the 8 km Run for Fun organised by the CRPF in several cities across the country including Kolkata. The NSG commandos bagged all top three honours in the over-35-year category. While Balvir Singh led the pack, Ratul Das, the 2 I/C of the NSG hub came second. The third position was won by Milan Majhi, another elite Black Cat commando from the hub in Badu, North 24-Parganas. While Singh received a cash award of Rs 10,000, Das won Rs 8,000 and Majhi Rs 5,000."This achievement proves that the NSG commandos are among the finest in the country. They uphold the values and principles of the 'Sudarshan Chakra' against the scourge of terrorism. The 'Sudarshan Chakra' is the crest of the NSG," an official from the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
