ED notice to DH municipality on recruitments

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday sent a notice to Diamond Harbour Municipality, seeking details of the recruitment of 16 Group C and Group D employees in 2016. The agency has also sought clarifications on the hiring process.
Diamond Harbour Municipality chairman Pranab Das said the civic body would send a reply to the ED notice. The ED and CBI are probing alleged recruitment irregularities across municipalities.
The notice was served a day after the Calcutta High Court brought the investigation under the monitoring of the court.
Meera Haldar, chairperson of the municipality in 2016, said that the recruitment process had been absolutely transparent. tnn
