Driver dies after falling off train

MALDA: An assistant driver of Hate Bazare Express was killed after a fall from the running train near New Farakka station in Malda district on Sunday night.Utpal Chatterjee, 40, fell from the train when he was taking a paper from a railway staffer in a cabin, B.K. Mangalik, railway manager, Malda division, Eastern Railway, said.The other driver immediately stopped the train and Chatterjee was rushed to the NTPC Hospital and then to the Railway Hospital.Mangalik said Chatterjee died on the way to the Railway Hospital.A probe has been ordered into the incident.The train left Malda after one-and-a-half hours.
