KOLKATA: 'Padatik', a documentary on the life and works of legendary filmmaker
Tapan Sinha, was screened in the recently concluded 19th Kolkata International Film Festival.
The documentary, which is produced by Eastern India Cinematographers' and directed by Bapi Banerjee, has been enriched with the last interview of the maestro. It is breakaway from the traditional form as the director has been seen through the eyes of several other filmmakers like Aurobindo Mukherjee, Tarun Majumder, Gautam Ghose and Rituporno Ghosh.
They analyzed his films from a common man's angle and that made the film interesting.
Creative master of the documentary Soumitra Khara said, "Tapan Sinha's films ranged from literature, crime thrillers, politics, human relationships and comic capers. The oeuvre of Sinha's creations depict a cross section of social problems and personal cravings." tnn
