The police on Sunday spotted several items in a

behind the house of prime accused Sheikh Shamsuddin, who was arrested on Friday night. His father was also arrested. While his wife Rezina is being interrogated for the murder, as her self help group had obtained a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from

Bandhan Bank

’s Salap branch where Chakraborty worked as a micro-finance officer.

His brother-in-law Sheikh Riaz is also under scanner of the police for his alleged involvement in the murder. Shamsuddin had confessed to the police that he had offered Rs 30,000 to Chakraborty to write off the loan, but Chakraborty had refused.

The police spotted a ditch behind Shamsuddin’s house. Interrogating Shamsuddin police came to know that they had plans to bury the severed parts of Chakraborty in that grave. On Sunday police spotted a blood-stained blanket, an identity card and Chakraborty’s bag along with some loan-related documents of the Rezina’s self help group.
