Didi upset over ‘football-man’ demolition

Kolkata: Speaking on the removal of the ‘football-man' with a Biswa Bangla logo in front of Salt Lake stadium, former CM Mamata Banerjee said, "I feel very bad. I created that logo with the help of an artist and drew it myself. You can be angry with me, but why destroy the installation? Sports-lovers and youngsters used to take selfies there. During the U-17 World Cup, FIFA officials had appreciated it. But they (BJP) broke it. Today you may be in office, tommorow you may not. Every new govt that comes... will it keep destroying everything that the previous one built? Did we demolish the statues of Lenin, Stalin, or even Syama Prasad Mookerjee, despite political differences?"
