KOLKATA: The Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard on Thursday helped a Higher Secondary examinee who was unable to locate his examination centre, Sri Digambar Jain Vidyalaya, situated on Narayan Prasad Babu Lane.
Cops created a green channel through a narrow lane for the student to reach the examination centre on a policeman’s bike.
Around 10.10am, the examinee, Ajeeb Afaque, a student of Sri Vishuddhanand Saraswati Vidyalaya School, was seen running near the Strand Road-MG Road crossing.

“The OC Souvik Chakraborty found that the student was in distress and took him to the school on his bike,” said an officer.
In a separate incident, Amit Roy, an assistant sub-inspector of Bidhannagar Police, created a special green channel and took a student to the examination centre on Jessore Road in the police bike. The student had sought help from the officer at Birati crossing, informing him that she was getting late to reach the examination centre.
