The lawyer allegedly confined those dogs inside a cage on his terrace. They were not fed and ill-treated, the actor alleged. A local alleged that two dogs died in the lawyer's house a few months ago as they were not fed. Roy later said they would arrange for the treatment of those dogs and send them to a good shelter.
Police said a local handed over his two dogs to Sharma few days ago and one of the dogs died following alleged ill-treatment by the lawyer's family. Later, he drew the attention of an NGO to the ill-treatment.
Roy, who is also associated with the NGO, reached Barasat police station on Wednesday and met IC Shyamal Sarkar and requested him to help her rescue the dogs.
