Conversations take off in the Kolkata
KOLKATA: Starting off with a live-chat show in the city, THE PALMS RESTAURANT proudly presented CONVERSATIONS, a once-in-a-month dialogue session between the exuberant Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee and celebrity guests from various walks of life.
The first edition saw Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee in conversation with nationally renowned actress Paoli Dam at The Palms Restaurant recently.
Speaking about the event, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee said, "Conversations is what we love to engage in to be in a journey of soul searching. Here is a talk show that will pick up the choicest of arts personalities and create an interactive exchange of life-shapers. This is going to be one lifestyle show unique and the only one in the city - live, unchained and unformatted."
Paoli Dam in conversations with Sujoy Prasad Chattherjee said that as a student in chemistry she never thought that she would achieve this much success in the film industry. She dreamt be a research scholar but found her "chemistry with films." Her moral support was her parents. She said that during her student life she came on screen to earn for herself some pocket money. Her first success as an actress was playing the role of Madhabilata in Kaalbela. But films like Chatrak and Hate story gave her criticisms. She went on to add, "My life has seen both fame, success and criticism. The criticisms in my life have made me more strong and successful in my career." Recounting her favourite films, the actress added, "Films, such as Kaalbela, Natoker Moto and Bedroom are close to my heart."
The evening saw The Palms Restaurant as a perfect host with delectable snacks such as Royal Harabhara Kebab, Double Fried Chicken Japanese Style, Mahi Kolbara, Makhani Karabi and other appetizers making the round paired with some delectable mocktails as well.
Speaking at the event, owner, The Palms Restaurant, Priyadarshini Dey said, "Conversations was a wonderful experience for us. It was an honour for us to host Paoli Dam, and the evening did deliver. The dialogue session between Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee and Paoli was interesting to say the least and it was wonderful to see the guests enjoy our appetizers and the place itself. With this being a recurring once-a-month live-chat show that we have started, the only one in the city, we only hope that Conversations and The Palms Restaurant reach new heights of glory."
The evening saw social activist and danseuse Alakananda Roy, dancer Sudarshan Chakravorty, television and theatre personality Chaitali Dasgupta, designer Pranay Baidya, socialite Nina Saxer, social personality Satrajit Sen, Ekavali Khanna and Dr Mousumi Ghosh, Founder Director Future Media School gracing the event among others.
