Close shave for actor after car hits divider

HOWRAH: Actor Hiran Chatterjee was injured on Sunday afternoon while driving his SUV to the city when he hit a divider near Ranihati crossing in Howrah along NH-6. The actor was reportedly trying to avoid being hit by a speeding Kolkata-bound bus. Chatterjee’s legs were injured in the impact.
The actor told cops he was driving back to the city when he spotted a bus was trying to overtake his car at breakneck speed along the wrong lane.Sensing trouble, he tried to move away from the path of the bus. However, his brakes malfunctioned and he hit the divider as he lost control of his car.
Both legs being injured, Chatterjee was unable to stand and cops shifted him to a nursing home for primary treatment. The actor said that he was surprised at how such buses were plying along the highway in such an illegal manner when the state was trying to implement road safety norms.
