It was around 6.10am that the couple set out for the Medical College police outpost where Seema was posted. “They were on their way towards Behala Chowrasta when they were chased by dogs coming out of Ram Road,” an officer said. Police said the truck’s tyre crushed Seema—a resident of Ketopole-Oxy Town—as soon as she fell on the road. Her husband was injured too but doctors said he is out of danger.A case was registered at the Parnasree PS, however Sarsuna police reached the spot first and sent the victims to the hospital. Witnesses said the truck driver fled the spot. “Maybe one of them was injured by two-wheelers,” said Kaushik Bagh, local resident.
