'CID may arrest Oxytown accused'
KOLKATA: The Alipore court on Thursday granted permission to CID to arrest Lakshmi Narayan Chakraborty and Chandan Das, prime accused in the Oxytown murder case in which all four members of the Pal family were killed.
The case was reopened on a high court directive, days after an Alipore court acquitted the two for want of evidence.
On August 6, Calcutta High Court overruled the lower court’s judgment and directed the two to surrender within a week, but the duo did not.

When CID appealed for arrest warrants, second additional district judge Biswarup Bandopadhyay directed it to arrest the two, who have been absconding following the HC directive.
Chakraborty and Das were acquitted as CID had failed to substantiate the murder charge.
