KOLKATA: After successfully holding a 'bijaya sammelani' for industrialists, Bengal chief minister
Mamata Banerjee's team is gearing up to host a cultural meet in the city, soon after Diwali, say sources.
"Last year, around 100-150 people from the cultural world turned up for the occasion though she was not yet the chief minister. This year, too, a similar attendance is expected," a source said.
Among guests at last year's meet were Tollywood stars Prasenjit, Ranjit Mullick, Locket Chatterjee, Pallavi and Bengali tele-serial actors and singers. many upcoming stars of Bengali tele-serials and singers.
Besides, Trinamool MPs hailing from the tinsel world Shatabdi Roy and Tapash Pal were there as was
Debashree Roy, now party MLA. Anindya Chatterjee, one of the lead singers of Bengali band Chandrabindoo, said: "I went for the meet last year. It was a good experience."
