Chamkaitala violence: 10 BJP men hurt
Midnapore: Violence returned to Chamkaitala in Garbeta as 10 BJP supporters were injured on Thursday evening when a BJP rally was attacked, allegedly by Trinamool supporters. BJP has called a bandh in the area on Friday. The BJP supporters were heading for a meeting when they were allegedly attacked. A car belonging to a BJP supporter was also damaged.
BJP’s district vice president Pradip Lodha alleged that Trinamool men hurled bombs and opened fire after that.

Lodha, along with Manik Ruidas, the district general secretary, were injured in the attack. They have been admitted in Garbeta hospital.
BJP’s district president Samit Das said they will hold a 12-hour bandh in Garbeta block in protest against the attack and BJP state president Dilip Ghosh was also informed about it. Police said that they are probing the matter.
It might be mentioned that Chamkaitala had witnessed a series of political violence between 1998 and 2000, while Mamata Banerjee was the opposition leader and her convoy was also attacked here.
