Centre seeks report on Nanoor

KOLKATA: The Union home ministry has asked the state to submit a report on allegations of live bombs surfacing in Nanoor, Birbhum. The home department has sent a letter to chief secretary Ardhendu Sen, inquiring about the situation at Nanoor. The government has asked the IG (law and order) to submit a report.
Trader shot in Mominpur: A youth, Nur Ali, was allegedly shot at in Mominpur on Thursday night.Police said Ali, a small-time trader from Garden Reach, was talking to some friends on Ekbalpore Road when one Seikh Jahangir called him. The two had an altercation before Jahangir allegedly took out a gun and shot at Ali's leg. Jahangir managed to flee the spot.
