Bidhannagar cops bust call centre, nab 5
Acting on an alert by CBI, Bidhannagar Police busted a fake call centre on Tuesday and arrested five people for duping some US citizens of several thousand dollars.

The fake call centre belonged to Md. Rizwan (29) who was arrested with his associates, Sabbir Sheikh (24), Rony Joseph Lee (21), Souporno Sinha Roy (35) and Joydeep Dey (35). The fraudsters used to call the victims, posing as the employees of Amazon and telling them that their Amazon accounts had been hacked.
Cops started the probe into the fraud following a complaint lodged with CBI by a senior Amazon official in New Delhi on July 3.
