Bhawanipur Education Society College
(BESC) is taking a new initiative to get students interested about classes and
education
as a whole. Suman Kumar Mukerjee, the director general of
BESC
, told us that the main reason behind taking this initiative is to increase the quality of education. As it happens, in examination-centric schooling systems, learning takes a back seat and all that matters is getting high marks in the exams.“With this practice, students don't learn anything because it has become an extremely mechanical process,“ said
Mukherjee
.
However, in the new community-learning, students will read or learn in a group with healthy interaction with each other. Though this concept is nothing but an elaborate group study , it will be highly technical in nature.“The students will be asked to prepare a lesson and during
community
learning they will clear each other's doubts. In this way they will learn the particular matter in a much better way ,“ said Mukherjee, adding this will be conducted after class hours.
