On Thursday, a seminar on “Business, Investment Opportunities in West Bengal” was organised by the Indian Embassy in Bangkok, in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce Hotel

The session was addressed by Khun. Sanan Angubolkul, vice-chairman of Thai Chamber of
Commerce, Board of Trade of Thailand and chairman, president, Srithai Superware Public Co. Ltd. Kishore delivered the keynote address. Yadav made a presentation on ‘Opportunities on

West Bengal

’. From the Indian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, Abbagani Ramu, Charge D’Affairs, Embassy of India in Thailand delivered the welcome address. The opening remarks were delivered by Sanjay Kumar, commercial representative, Indian Embassy in Thailand.

The event had a vibrant interactive session with different businesses and associations from Thailand and members of the official and business delegation from West Bengal, India. Rudra Chatterjee, senior vice-president, Indian Chamber of Commerce and executive director, Luxmi Tea Company Shiv Siddhant Kaul, co-chairman, Science and Technology and Innovation Committee and member, National Executive Committee, FICCI and MD, Nicco Engineering Services Ltd and business delegates spoke on their experiences of doing business in Bengal. Thai business heads were also called to highlight business opportunities between Thailand and Bengal.

The sectors of collaboration between Thailand and West Bengal include manufacturing, chemicals, auto ancillaries, food processing, hospitality and tourism, logistics and skill development.
The seminar was followed by G2B meetings between senior government officials from the state and major Thai companies and associations including Srithai Superware, Indorama Ventures PCL, Federation of Thai Industries, Board of Investment, Chemical Industry Club and others.
