Barrackpore shooting: Bihar gangster held

Kolkata: The detective wing of the Barrackpore Commissionerate arrested a gangster from Bihar, Rajbir Singh, on Saturday in connection with the shooting at a jewellery shop in Barrackpore on May 24.Four armed men barged into the shop in Barrackpore’s Anandapuri and shot the owner, Niladri Singha, dead. His father, Nilratan, and a security guard sustained injuries. Earlier, three men were arrested. With the recent arrest, all four involved in the shooting were nabbed, police said. “A probe showed Singh’s direct involvement in the shooting. Singh is in Punjab police custody for another robbery. He will be brought to Barrackpore,” said Alok Rajoria, police commissioner of Barrackpore.
