Bank strike called off

Kolkata: The United Forum of Bank Unions has deferred an all-India bank strike, which was called on January 30 and 31 in demand of five-day-a-week working days, resolution of residual issues, scrapping of the new pension scheme and update of of pension of past retirees. Had the forum gone ahead with the strike, banks would have been closed for four days from January 28 to January 31, 28th being a Saturday, when banks stay shut. tnn
