Though the House is in session, only a handful of ministers were present. The attendance of opposition members was even worse. While Congress chief whip Atish Sinha was present, his Trinamul counterpart Sovandeb Chattopadhyay left soon after 1 pm.
Among the ministers present were Satya Sadhan Chakraborty, Kanti Biswas, Pratim Chatterjee, Anisur Rehman, Gautam Deb and Upen Kisku.

GNLF leader Shanta Chettry arrived late. Only six Trinamul members and four of the Congress were present when the house was in order.
The situation was slightly better at writers’ buildings with most of the ministers available in their chambers. Employee attendance, however, fell by around 10 per cent with a section of people moving out to attend the rallies after signing in.
