Kolkata: The Special Task Force of Kolkata Police, which continued questioning four JMB men arrested on Tuesday, now believe that the accused were part of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Hind module, the Indian module of the Neo-JMB that is active in Bangladesh.
Police sources said they were investigating whether three of the Bangladeshi nationals, who spent a considerable time shuttling between Bengal and Kerala, had any close links with terror sympathizers of National Thowheeth Jama’ath (NTJ) of Sri Lanka after arriving in India.
“The arrested were identified as Md Jiaur Rahman (44), a resident of Nawabgunj; Mamonur Radhid (33), a resident of Rangpur; Md Sahin Alam alias Alamin (23), a resident of Rajshahi and Rabiul Islam (35) from Nayagram in Birbhum. Jihadi literature was seized from their possession on Tuesday morning,” said Joint CP (STF) Subhankar Sinha Sarkar.
