KOLKATA: A senior official of the Enforcement Directorate on Monday said that a preliminary investigations have revealed that Arpita Mukherjee had been running at least 12 shell companies, primarily for 'financial manoeuvres'.

Mukherjee is known to be a 'close associate' of arrested Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee.

"We have found documents from Arpita's Joka flat which indicated that she was operating several shell companies for financial manoeuvres," reported PTI quoting officials.



Officials said that ED sleuths also suspect involvement of a few lesser-known actors as well as people from different production houses in Odisha and Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, AIIMS Bhubaneswar executive director said that Partha Chatterjee does not require hospitalisation.

Chatterjee was on Monday flown to Odisha capital Bhubaneswar in an air ambulance by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as per direction of the Calcutta high court.



"Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee has chronic health issues, but does not require hospitalisation," PTI quoted AIIMS officials as saying.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar director Ashutosh Biswas said that they investigated and the report has been submitted to the high court.



"There was not much chest pain. He is in stable condition and will be discharged today."

The ED presented AIIMS Bhubaneswar medical report of Partha Chatterjee before the court which shows that he is fit and stable.
