App launched to help lodge child rights violation plaints

, the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights launched an app that makes it simpler to lodge complaints on child rights violations and track its status. “We launched the Shishu Suraksha app on Wednesday. The user-friendly app is an extremely handy mechanism to lodge a complaint even from a remote area, at odd hours and by those unwilling to reveal their identity to the public. It also brings transparency in our response to the complaints by allowing the complainant to track it,” WBCPCR chairperson Ananya Chakraborti said.

At present, WBCPCR receives around 800-900 complaints annually. Majority complaints are related to missing children, trafficking, child marriage, care and protection issues, domestic violence and sexual offences. The app once downloaded from Google Playstore requires a phone no to sign in. tnn
