Aminul kin seek CBI probe

KOLKATA: Karaya police station was gheraoed by political activists after two cops accused of inaction against an alleged rapist were spotted on duty on No. 4 Bridge near Park Circus. A local youth, Aminul Islam, has immolated himself right in front of the police station to protest against police inaction.
State Congress activists including Pradesh Congress editor Zahid Hussain blocked cars coming in and out of Karaya police station to demand an answer to why "police personnel accused of inaction are posted in different zones instead of being punished." Hussain said: ""During a protest on 4 no bridge, Park Circus, we spotted among the police force the cops accused of driving Aminul to suicide."
The protest also saw participation by Anwar, brother of Aminul Islam, who demanded a CBI inquiry on the events that led to Aminul's death.
