After 5 years, Rahul Gandhi to address Malda meet

MALDA: Rahul Gandhi had come to campaign for Mousam Noor at Malda in 2014. She was then the Congress candidate from Malda Uttar. Five years later, he is coming to Malda again on Saturday. But this time, Noor has switched loyalties to Trinamool.


People in Malda are waiting for Rahul’s first public meeting in Bengal to hear how the Congress president addresses the change. He will campaign for fath-er and son Congress candidates from Malda Dakshin and Malda Uttar, AH Khan Choudhury and Isha Khan Choudhury, respectively.

The public meeting had to be postponed from Mar-ch 15 to March 23 because of restrictions on the use of microphones during board examinations. Congress leaders had moved Electi-on Commission, arguing that there is no CBSE-run school around Malda’s Ch-anchal, the meeting venue.
