ABC gets new chairman

KOLKATA: Sam Balsara, CMD, Madison World, was unanimously elected as the chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) for 2011-2012. Balsara has been a member of the Bureau's Council of Management since 2002 and was the Bureau's Deputy Chairman for 2010-2011.
Balsara is also the recipient of the Advertising Agencies Association of India's Lifetime Achievement Award and the Ad Club of Kolkata's Hall of Fame Award.Balsara also featured in Campaign's Global Power List 2010 - a list of over 150 most influential people in the world in the field of media, marketing and advertising. Balsara was earlier President of Advertising Agencies Association of India , The Advertising Standards Council of India, The Advertising Club of Bombay and IAA India Chapter.
T Venkattram Reddy, from the Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd, a Publisher Member on the Council, was unanimously elected as the deputy chairman of the Bureau for 2011-2012. The members on the Bureau's Council of Management for 2011-2012, include advertising agency representatives, Shashidhar Sinha, Madhukar Kamath and Vikram Sakhuja, in addition to Balsara. The publishers representatives in addition to Reddy are, Shailesh Gupta, M. V
enkatesh, Amit Mathew, Aritra Sarkar, I Venkat, Hormusji N Cama and Devendra V Darda. Advertisers representatives are S M Ahmad, Ravi Pisharody, Debabrata Mukherjee and Anil Dua. Hormuzd Masani will be the secretary-general.
